Trendstop: Key Trends from the Paris Menswear Trade Shows for SS 2016

Publié le
3 août 2015

The Trendstop.com team has recently returned from Paris, where their experts visited three of the most influential fashion trade shows on the industry circuit to pinpoint new trends emerging for Spring/Summer 2016. Taking place alongside Paris Men’s Fashion Week S/S16, Capsule, Tranoi Homme and MAN showcase a wide range of forward modern products for men, and are renowned worldwide for their curation of high-end and up-and-coming international brands. This season, we saw a focus on practical Eastern-inspired fashion and innovative approaches to casual/formal design, complete with shades of summer darks. Here, Trendstop presents FMAG with a first look at three key trade show trends to update menswear going into S/S16.

Japanese Utility

Utility styles hint at an Eastern influence for spring. Practical multi-pocket work jackets appear in durable denim textures with button-up fastenings, as pants incorporate baggy drop-crotch shapes with elasticised cuffs and waistbands. A palette of muted blues and neutrals runs throughout, emphasising the workwear mood.

Smart wardrobe staples are designed to be worn straight from bike to boardroom, as formal menswear reveals sporty twists. Tailored jackets include zipped fronts for a more streamlined look, while crisp white shirts are reworked with pullover silhouettes. Athletic slip-ons fuse perforated surfaces with black stealth leather.

Navy Ink

A must-have colour trend for Spring/Summer 2016, apparel and accessories are saturated in a rich shade of Navy Ink blue for added depth. Everyday staples like T-shirts express a sophisticated dimension, as white contrast soles lend a clean sporty feel to sneakers. Tinted lenses update men’s sunglasses with a statement appeal.
